About Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton was born and raised in Stevenage, England and got his start in racing at a young age. At the age of seven he finished second at the national BRCA championship and then started on the go-kart circuit at the gage of eight. In 1998 he won the Super One Series and his second British Championship, then landed a spot in the McLaren driver development program. Over time he earned his stripes on the Intercontinental A, Formula A and Former Super A ranks and became the European Champion in 2000. In 2001 he started racing on the British Formula Renault Winter Series and went on to finish with three wins in 2002. Due to his overwhelming success in Formula three he was moved up to GP2 and won a championship in 2006. The following year he got his break on the Formula One World Championship series with McLaren. Since that time he has signed on with Mercedes, and has won 33 races to go along with two Formula One World Championships in 2008 and 2014.
