Louis Smith

Louis Smith is a native of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. As a junior gymnast he won two European Championships on the Pommel Horse in 2004 and 2006 and won gold at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. He went on to win a bronze medal in the Pommel Horse at the 2007 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and then captured a silver medal at the World Cup while representing Britain. After winning a silver medal in the World Cup in Moscow in 2008 he made his Olympic debut in Beijing, where he won bronze in the Pommel horse. Two years later he brought home two silver medals from the World Championships in Birmingham in the Team and Pommel horse events, and followed that up with a silver medal at the 2010 World Championships and bronze medal at the 2011 World Championships in Pommel Horse. Smith returned to action at the 2012 London Olympic games and won a silver medal in the Pommel Horse and bronze medal for Great Britain in the Team competition. In 2012 he broke into the entertainment industry with a long and successful appearance on the hit show Strictly Come Dancing.
