About Lyn St. James
Lyn St. James was a groundbreaking professional IndyCar driver. St. James is one of just seven women that have qualified for the Indianapolis 500. With a career best finish of 11th in 1992, she became the first women to win Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year. Over a nine-year stretch, she made seven starts in “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing”. As a 53 year old in 2000, she was the oldest driver in the Indy 500 field. St. James experienced even more success in endurance racing. She was a two-time winner at the 24 Hours of Daytona and a winner at the 12 Hours of Sebring. In 1994, St. James founded the Women in the Winner’s Circle Foundation. The Foundation scouts and provides opportunities for women in racing. She has been a commentator for ESPN, ESPN 2, and ABC. St. James is currently a motivational speaker and author of two books.
