About Marc Bergevin
Marc Bergevin is the general manager and executive vice president of the Montreal Canadiens. He was originally hired in 2012. The team has made it to the playoffs every year under his watch and reached the Eastern Conference Finals in 2014. That season, Bergevin finished runner-up in NHL General Manager of the Year voting. He came to the Canadiens after serving as the assistant general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks. Bergevin had originally joined the organization after his playing career as a scout. He also served as an assistant coach for the team and the director of player personnel. Bergevin had a lengthy 20-year tenure as a player in the NHL. The Chicago Blackhawks originally selected him in the third round of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft. He ended up playing for eight different franchises and in over 1,000 career games. Bergevin made his greatest impact as a member of the expansion Tampa Bay Lightning from 1992-95. He also skated for Canada and won a gold medal at the 1994 World Championships.
