About Mark Hensby
Mark Hensby is a professional Australian golfer, famously known as “The Forgotten Man of Australian Golf”. Born in Melbourne, Australia in June of 1972, Hensby turned professional at age 23 after moving to the United States just one year prior. He acquired his first win at the 2004 John Deere Classic. Hensby played in what is now the Web.com Tour for several years before earning himself a spot on the PGA Tour, which he still currently plays for. To date, Hensby has earned six professional wins, three of them while playing in the Web.com Tour and one in the PGA Tour. He has also had great results in a variety of major championships in 2005, including the Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship. An extremely successful year for him, Hensby also won the Scandinavian Masters on the European Tour and was featured in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings in 2005. Hensby continues to compete in the PGA Tour to date, even after overcoming a serious car accident in 2006. Despite his nickname, Hensby’s perseverance is not overlooked.
