About Mark Herrmann
Mark Herrmann is known for dedicating more than a decade of time to playing professional football as a quarterback in the NFL. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1959 and raised in Carmel, Indiana, Herrmann grew up playing basketball and football and ultimately chose to attend Purdue University to play for the football team under coach Jim Young. An impressive college career led Herrmann to be selected as Most Valuable Player in each of his three winning Bowl Games (in 1978, ’79, and ’80), a recipient of the Sammy Baugh Trophy, and earned him an induction into the College Hall of Fame. As a result of his glorious college years, Herrmann was selected in the 1981 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. Playing for five professional teams for two or three seasons each over the course of his career, Herrmann finished his time in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts and with a total of 334 pass completions of 569 (56.2%) and a QB rating of 64.3. Herrmann announced his retirement in 1992 and currently resides in Indianapolis with his wife and three kids.
