About Matt Langel
Matt Langel is a collegiate basketball head coach. Prior to his head-coaching career, Langel attended the University of Pennsylvania where he played for the Quaker basketball team. During the 1998-99 season, Langel helped the team reach the 1999 NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament. As a senior, Langel was an honorary co-captain and he led the team to an undefeated Ivy League season. In 2000, Langel was named All-Ivy League First Team and he won two Ivy League Championships with Pennsylvania. The Atlantic City Seagulls of the USBL selected Langel in the 2000 USBL Draft. He then tried out for the Seattle SuperSonics, but he did not make the team. In November 2004, Langel joined the Penn coaching staff where he served as an assistant coach. Temple University hired Langel in 2006 as an assistant head coach as well. On April 28, 2011, Langel became the head coach of the Colgate Raiders men’s basketball team.
