About Matt Strahm
The Philadelphia Phillies employ Matt Strahm as their left-handed pitcher who demonstrates versatility while performing effectively from the bullpen. Matt Strahm grew up in West Fargo North Dakota before attending Neosho County Community College for baseball then the Kansas City Royals drafted him in the 21st round of the 2012 MLB Draft. The Royals drafted Strahm in 2012 and he made his MLB debut with them in 2016 before playing for the San Diego Padres and Boston Red Sox and finally joining the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Phillies acquired Strahm through a two-year $15 million contract during December 2022. Strahm achieved a 9–5 win-loss record with a 3.29 ERA and 108 strikeouts during his first season with Philadelphia while pitching 87.2 innings. The 2024 National League All-Star team chose him based on his outstanding performance. Strahm signed a new contract with the Phillies in March 2024 which extends his stay through 2025 with an option to continue in 2026..
