About Maurice Edu
Maurice Edu is a former American professional soccer player and current soccer commentator. A versatile midfielder, he was the first overall pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft by Toronto FC, earning MLS Rookie of the Year honors. Edu played for clubs like Rangers (winning three Scottish Premier League titles), Stoke City, Bursaspor, and Philadelphia Union, retiring in 2019. He earned 46 caps for the U.S. Men’s National Team, competing in the 2008 Olympics and 2010 World Cup. His college career at the University of Maryland included a 2005 NCAA championship. Now, he works as an analyst for MLS Season Pass on Apple TV, CBS Sports, and previously for Fox Sports, covering significant events such as the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
