About Michael Andretti
Michael Andretti is from the famous Andretti racing family. He was born on October 5, 1962 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Andretti began his racing career in 1980 as he lived in the shadow of his father. The following year, Andretti won six of the eleven Super Vee races and he won the Championship. In 1983, he moved to the Formula Atlantic and won the Championship. Andretti made his CART debut in 1984 with the Kraco Team. While CART racing, Andretti was named Rookie of the Year. In 1986, Andretti won his first IndyCar race and in 1991, he won the 1991 CART/PPG IndyCar World Series. Two years later, Andretti joined the McLaren Formula One team and in 1994, he returned back to the CART series. Andretti retired from fulltime racing after the 2003 Indianapolis 500, but he returned to racing for the 2006 Indianapolis 500. In March 2012, Andretti took over as the promoter of the Milwaukee Mile IndyCar race.
