About Michael Buffer
The words, “Lets get ready to rumble!” are the trademark of the most well-known pre main event announcer of all-time. When he took his familiar place in the center of the ring, at center field, or at center court prior to a headline-sporting event everyone know it was truly time to rumble. Often what followed those words were the most historic matches and games of our generation, and it all started with the atmosphere he created.
Buffer is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and served as an enlisted sailor in Vietnam. After his brief career in the Navy he sold used cars and became a model at age 32. When his voice became the talk of the town he became a ring announcer at age 38, and as his popularity grew he was hired to introduce World Series, Stanley Cup, NBA Finals, and NFL playoff games. He’s introduced the Indianapolis 500, main event boxing and UFC Fights, and also made appearances in television shows like Saturday Night Live, Mad TV, The Simpsons and South Park.
