About Mike Pouncey
Mike Pouncey quickly made an impact when he was selected in the 1st round of the 2011 NFL Draft with the 15th overall pick by the Miami Dolphins. During his first season with the Dolphins he started every game at center and earned PFWA All-Rookie Team honors. The following season he earned the Don Shula Leadership Award and has since earned Pro Bowl honors in 2013. Overall, Pouncey was a four-time Pro Bowler in ten NFL seasons. He spent the final three years of his career with the Los Angeles Chargers.
It was fitting that Pouncey played most of his career with the Dolphins as a Florida native. He played his prep football at Lakeland High School alongside his twin brother and future fellow NFL Pro Bowl offensive lineman Maurkice. Pouncey helped the Dreadnaughts to three consecutive Florida 5A State Championships before heading to the University of Florida with his twin brother. At the University of Florida, he became a First-Team All-SEC and First Team All-American selection while leading the Gators to a BCS National Championship in 2009.
