About Mike Sims-Walker
Mike Sims walker was born in the most magical place on earth, Orlando, Florida. From his early days in the sunshine state everyone knew he was bound for some magic of his own, and after a stellar high school career at Edgewater High School he took the first step to stardom at the University of Central Florida. During his time with the Golden Knights he was a two-time All-Conference USA selection and caught the eye of NFL scouts across the league.
In 2007 the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Sims-Walker with the 79th overall pick in the 3rd Round of the NFL Draft, keeping the Florida boy at home in the sun. After his highly touted debut in 2008 he became the Jags leading receiver in 2009 with 63 receptions for 869 yards. He’d go on to play for the Jags through the 2010 season, and after a brief stop with the St. Louis Rams he headed to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League.
Sims-Walker is a dedicated philanthropist, founding the Mike Sims-Walker Foundation to honor his father Michael Sims, who died from colon caner in 2008. Through his foundation he has raised funding to provide numerous Jacksonville and Orlando area students and athletes the opportunity to attend college.
