About Mike Singletary
Mike Singletary is a former professional linebacker and former head coach. Singletary attended Baylor University where he earned All-American honors as a junior and senior. Singletary is the only college junior to be selected to the AllSouthwest Conference Team in the 1970s and he is the only two-time recipient of the Davey O’Brien Memorial Trophy. The Chicago Bears selected Singletary in the 2nd round as the 38th overall pick in the 1981 NFL Draft. Singletary was a 10x Pro Bowl selection, 8x First-Team All-Pro selection, Super Bowl XX Champion, 2x AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year and Second-team All-Pro selection. He was also named to the NFL 1980s All-Decade Team. Singletary’s coaching career began in 2003 when he was hired as the linebacker’s coach for the Baltimore Ravens. He also coached the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings. Singletary was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1998.
