About Mike Tomlin
There are not many coaches more respected in football than Mike Tomlin. Tomlin is the latest in a string of great Steelers coaches and he led the franchise to victory in Super Bowl XLIII. At the age of 36, he won NFL Coach of the Year and was the youngest head coach to ever win a championship. Tomlin also took the team to Super Bowl XLV where they came up short against the Green Bay Packers. Undoubtedly, he will join Chuck Noll and Bill Cowher as great Steelers head coaches and may also see his bust one day in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Tomlin had a meteoric rise to the top, serving as a defensive coordinator for just one season with the Minnesota Vikings before getting the Pittsburgh head coaching job. He won his first Super Bowl as the defensive backs coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Prior to that, Tomlin had been a college coach at Virginia Military Institute, Memphis, Arkansas State, and Cincinnati.
