About Nam Phan
Nam Phan is a mixed martial artist. He began training in Tae Kwon Do at the young age of four, and by the time he was sixteen he was a second degree black belt in Vietnamese combat martial arts. He has been a professional competitor in mixed martial arts since 2001 when he made his debut and won with a second round TKO. Nam really made a name for himself when he signed with the Ultimate Fighting Championship to appear on The Ultimate Fighter television show. After the final episode of the show, Phan began fighting in the UFC and in his first fight he earned the Fight of the Night honors which he has gone on to win a total of two times. In late 2014 Nam left the UFC and joined Bellator MMA to continue his career. Aside from his in ring career, Nam is the owner and operator of the Madu Academy where he teaches Brazilian jiu-jitsu as well as other disciplines, and he has also founded a business to promote mixed martial arts fighters.
