About Napheesa Collier
Napheesa Collier entered the world on September 23, 1996, in Jefferson City, Missouri, and she now plays professional basketball for the Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA. The versatile and leadership-driven forward has proven herself as a top talent in the WNBA.
The University of Connecticut was her college basketball home where she earned two First Team All-American honors while leading the Huskies to their 2016 national title. The Lynx selected her as their sixth overall pick in the 2019 WNBA Draft and she immediately became a Rookie of the Year winner while earning All-Rookie Team recognition. She received four WNBA All-Star selections (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024) and won the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2024. During that season she averaged 20.4 points, 9.7 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while leading the league in steals and guiding the Lynx to the WNBA Finals.
Collier has won gold medals at both the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Olympics while representing the United States in international competitions. In 2025 she co-founded the 3-on-3 basketball league Unrivaled with WNBA star Breanna Stewart and earned the title of inaugural MVP.
Collier dedicates time to community service while using her platform to support women's sports initiatives. She maintains her essential role with the Lynx while serving as an inspiration to young athletes who want to follow in her footsteps.
