Nathan MacKinnon

Nathan MacKinnon grew up in Canada and began to play hockey at a young age. From there he has gone on to become a professional player in the National Hockey League playing for the Colorado Avalanche. In his youth he was able to outperform competitors that were several years older and more experienced than him. Nathan then moved up to the Junior Hockey League where he was already regarded as the best new player. It didn’t take long for him to exhibit his skill when he scored a hat trick in one of the first games he appeared in. The biggest step came when MacKinnon transitioned to the NHL after being selected by the Avalanche as the number one overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft, all of which occurred before his eighteenth birthday. Nathan adjusted quickly and had two assists in his first game and later went on to become only the third player to score seven points in his first two playoff games.
