About Nazem Kadri
Nazem Kadri is one of the stars of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Maple Leafs originally drafted him seventh overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. When he made his NHL debut a year later, Kadri became just the third Muslim to ever play in the league. He is often among the most-penalized players in the NHL, but has also added some needed scoring punch for Toronto. In 2016, he led the team in points and assists. Kadri gained notorietyplaying in the OHL for the Kitchener Rangers and London Knights. In 2008, he helped the Knights reach the Memorial Cup. Two years later, he was named an OHL second-team All-Star. Kadri also represented the silver medal-winning Canadian team at the World Junior Championships. He moved up to the senior national team in 2015 and took part in the World Championships.
