Nick Itkin

Nick Itkin stands as a renowned American foil fencer who achieved international success while working to increase fencing accessibility. Nick Itkin was born on October 9, 1999, in Los Angeles, California, and started fencing at age seven under the instruction of his father Michael Itkin who competed at an elite level in Ukraine. The Los Angeles International Fencing Center serves as his training base since his father established it in 2003.

Nick Itkin has competed for the United States at two Olympic Games. The men's team foil competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics awarded Itkin a bronze medal. He achieved individual bronze at the 2024 Paris Olympics to become one of six American men who won individual foil medals. The World Championship has brought Itkin two medals: silver in 2023 and bronze in 2022 for individual men's foil.

Itkin won two NCAA individual foil titles during his time at the University of Notre Dame in 2018 and 2019. The 2018 season marked a historic achievement for Itkin because he achieved Junior World and U.S. Division I and NCAA titles during the same year.

Through his activities Nick Itkin works to advance equity in fencing beyond his competitive pursuits. Through his Nick Itkin Foundation he offers free training and resources to underprivileged youth at the Los Angeles International Fencing Center. His goal is to bring fencing to more children while working to eliminate financial obstacles that prevent them from participating in the sport.
