About Nicole Barnhart
Nicole Barnhart is an American soccer goalkeeper and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. She currently plays for FC Kansas City in the National Women’s Soccer League. During high school, Barnhart played for the boys’ team all four years. She also played basketball and lacrosse, and she was named an All-American. Barnhart attended Stanford University where she played soccer for the Stanford Cardinals. While at Stanford, Barnhart was named an All-Pacific-10 Conference player in 2002, 2003, and 2004. She holds the Stanford women’s record for lowest career goalsagainst average. Barnhart was allocated to FC Gold Pride for the inaugural season of Women’s Professional Soccer in 2009. The following year, she helped the FC Gold Pride to the 2010 WPS title. In 2011, Barnhart signed with the Philadelphia Independence for the 2011 WPS season. On January 11, 2013, she was one of three members from the United States women’s national team that was allocated to the new NWSL club FC Kansas City. In August, she was named NWSL Goalkeeper of the year. Barnhart has participated in the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics.
