About Pam Shriver
Pam Shriver is a former professional tennis player, notorious for her success in both doubles and singles competitions. Shriver posted a 625-270 record during her singles career, with her most successful Grand Slam result being a second place finish at the 1978 U.S. Open. Shriver’s highest ranking as a singles player came in 1984 when she was ranked third. She really excelled in doubles play, winning 112 titles and achieving a number one ranking in 1985. Shriver won 21 Grand Slam Championships in doubles over her career, and is one of only six women to win over 100 career titles. Along with her professional success, Shriver also won multiple gold medals at both the Olympics and the Pan American Games. In her only Olympics, Shriver would win the gold medal in doubles competition while representing America in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. After her retirement in 1996, Shriver has worked as a tennis broadcaster for a variety of networks, including ABC, NBC, ESPN, BBC, and more. Her illustrious career earned her a spot in the International Tennis Hall of Fame, enshrining her greatness forever.
