Phill Drobnick

Phill Drobnick was born in Virginia, Minnesota and began curling at the age of eight in 1986. Throughout his career he competed at curling’s most elite level and won the Minnesota State Junior Championship in 2000 and 2003. He went on to win gold at the 2000 United States Junior National Championships and compete in the World Junior Championships in both 2000 and 2003. At the 2002 United States Olympic Curling Trials he earned a bronze medal and went on to compete in the 2002 Olympic games. After his competitive career came to an end he turned his focus to coaching and has since led the Chris Plys junior rink team to two Minnesota State Junior Championships in 2007 and 2008, two United States Junior Championships and two World Junior Curling Championships. In 2008 his team won the World Junior Championships, making them the first to capture that title for the United States in over 24 years.
