Rachael Flatt

Rachael Flatt was born in Del Mar, California and graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School in Colorado Springs, Colorado. At the age of four she took up the sport of figure skating and has not turned back since. When she was 11 she captured a silver medal at the Nationals on the juvenile level and an intermediate title in 2004. At the age of 12 she won the US Novice National title and went on to win the 2005 Triglav Trophy. In 2006 she competed in the US Nationals and earned a silver medal, launching her into the conversation as one of the top figure skaters in the world. At the Junior Grand Prix Final in 2007 and 2008 she won the silver medal in ladies singles and went on to win the World Junior Championships in 2008. She has since competed in the 2010 Olympic games and earned a silver medal at the 2011 United States Championships. In 2014 she announced her retirement from competitive figure skating, and currently attends Stanford University where she studies biology. As a top national figure she is also a spokesperson for Reading Is Fundamental, as well as the US Anti-Doping Agency.
