About Raul Mondesi
Raul Mondesi is a retired Major League Baseball outfielder. He originally signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 1988 out of the Dominican Republic. After several seasons playing for the teams minor league affiliates racking up numbers in hitting, stolen bases, and home runs, he was called up to the majors. In his first full season he hit .306 with 16 home runs, 56 RBI, and 11 stolen bases. Mondesi played with the Dodgers up until the 2000 season began where he was an All Star, the National League Rookie of the Year, and a 2 time Gold Glove winner. In the waning years of his career he bounced around between several teams before officially retiring from the game in 2005. Since retiring Raul has moved back to the Dominican Republic where he has gotten involved in politics and was recently elected as mayor of his hometown.
