About Ray Evernham
Ray Evernham began his career in motorsports as a modified racer which eventually led him to the ranks of NASCAR. By a stroke of luck Ray was approached by an engineer for another team after he had just quit his job as crew chief for Alan Kulwicki. It was Rays big break because the young gun Jeff Gordon needed a crew chief and he wanted Evernham. From the first time the two worked together they hit it off and it led to great success. As crew chief for the team Ray was the mastermind behind winning three Winston Cup Championships and 47 races. Following his career as a crew chief, Ray got into team ownership, forming Evernham Motorsports where he helped bring Dodge back into prominence in the top series of NASCAR. After selling his shares of the race team Ray moved on once again with a new venture, this time in broadcasting where he worked with ESPN/ABC where he has done race coverage and studio coverage of the sport.
