About Rich Aurilia
Rich Aurilia spent 15 seasons in the major league and is best known for his time with the San Francisco Giants. He had two stints with the franchise to bookend his career. Aurilia contributed to several successful Giants teams during his first run with the team from 1995-2003. In 2001, he hit a career-high 37 home runs and led the National League with 206 hits. He was named to the NL All-Star team and won a Silver Slugger Award. A year later, Aurilia helped the Giants reach the World Series. During that postseason, he set a league playoff record for shorstops with 14 RBI. He ended up playing for the Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres and Cincinnati Reds before returning to San Francisco in 2007. He spent the final three seasons of his career with the club before retiring in 2010 and entering the broadcasting world. Aurilia currently works Giants games for Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.
