About Richard Seymour
Prior to making it to the National Football League, Richard Seymour began his career in college. He played for the University of Georgia where in 41 games he racked up 223 tackles and 9.5 sacks. For his work on the field, he became a First-team All-American and a two-time First-team All-SEC member before entering the 2001 NFL Draft. Richard became the 6th overall selection and had success immediately. In his first season, he won the first of his three Super Bowl championships with the New England Patriots and quickly became viewed as the best defensive lineman in the NFL. Richard played for the Patriots as well as the Oakland Raiders and accumulated 496 tackles and 57.5 quarterback sacks. Those numbers propelled Seymour to becoming a 7 time Pro Bowl selection, a 4 time AFC Champion, and a 5-time All-Pro in a 12-year career. In 2022, he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
