About Rodrigue Beaubois
Rodrigue Beaubois was playing pick-up basketball on his home island of Guadeloupe when he attracted the attention of NBA player Mickael Pietrus. Pietrus helped Beaubois get in contact with the right people, leading to a contract with Chalot Basket of the French Pro A League. After three seasons playing in France, including a season being named the Leagues Most Improved Player, Beaubois impressed enough scouts to be drafted in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, who traded him to the Dallas Mavericks. In his first season with the Mavericks, Beaubois made the most of his limited playing time, becoming the first rookie in NBA history to shoot 50% from the field, 40% from three point land, and 80% from the free throw line in a 40 point game against the Golden State Warriors. He suffered a few injuries during the 2010-2011 season that kept him out during the Mavericks NBA Finals victory run. He continued to suffer from injuries over the next two seasons and in 2014 went back to the French Pro A League to play.
