About Rolf Benirschke
Rolf Benirschke is likely the greatest kicker in San Diego Chargers history. He is a member of the team's Hall of Fame and was selected to their 40th and 50th anniversary teams. He retired in 1987 with the all-time franchise record for points scored with 766 and as the third most-accurate kicker in NFL history. Benirschke was a All-Pro pick in 1980 and a Pro Bowler in 1982. Since retiring from football, he has had a successful career in business and motivational speaking. In 2009, he founded Legacy Health Strategies, a marketing and strategic planning company for pharmaceutical and medical device companies. He previously sold a financial services company. Early in his NFL career, Benirschke was found to have ulcerative colitis. He is the national spokesperson for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America and Hepatitis C awareness. Each year, his Rolf Benirschke Legacy Foundation host a charity golf tournament. He is truly a San Diegoan through and through, having grown up in the city, playing for the Chargers, and still giving his time to several charitable causes in town.
