About Ronnie Lott
Ronnie Lott was a defensive back in American football and is widely considered one of the best to ever play the position. He first played at the University of Southern California where he was a unanimous All-American and helped lead the Trojans to two Rose Bowl wins a share of the 78 National Championship. Lott was selected in the first round of the 1981 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He made immediate impact as the starting corner, recording 7 interceptions and helping lead the 49ers to a Super Bowl victory. Lott went on to play 16 seasons in the NFL, winning 4 Super Bowls and taking 11 trips to the Pro Bowl. He switched to strong safety midway through his career and was known for his ability to cover all areas of the field. Lott recorded 63 interceptions in his career, taking 5 of them back for TDs. In 2000, Lott was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame and in 2002 to the College Football Hall of Fame.
