About Royal Ivey
Royal Ivey attended the University of Texas at Austin on a full-ride basketball scholarship where he immediately made an impact for the Longhorns. Ivey went on to play in every game while he was at Texas, starting in a school record 126 out of 133. He didnt put up stellar numbers for the Longhorns but he was an all-around reliable PG which led the Atlanta Hawks to select him with the 37th pick in the 2004 NBA Draft. Ivey played for 3 seasons with the Hawks before being traded or signing with 6 other teams for the next 7 seasons of his career. He started 114 games at PG throughout his NBA career, averaging just 3.3 ppg in that time. In September of 2014 he signed a contract to become an assistant coach of the Oklahoma City Blue, ending his playing career and beginning a coaching one.
