Ryan Lochte

Ryan Lochte is a very well known Olympic athlete and highly respectable competitive swimmer. Often referred to as “Reezy” or “The Lochtenator”, Lochte has been specializing in the backstoke, butterfly, freestyle and medley throughout his entire life. After being born in Rochester, New York, his family moved to Florida during his early childhood so that his father could pursue a career as a swim coach. Lochte had already reached the Junior Olympics by the age of 14 and went on to become a Florida Gator swimming and diving team member at the University of Florida. Lochte broke records left and right and graduated with a degree in sport management. From there, he hit the ground running, or in this case, hit the pool swimming. He finished second to Michael Phelps in 2004, qualifying him for his first Olympics. Since, Lochte has become an eleven-time Olympic medalist, with five gold, three silver and three bronze. He currently holds the team world record in the 4x200-meter freestyle relay and three individual world records in the 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter individual medleys. Lochte has been the recipient of many Swimmer of the Year awards but most importantly, is known for his extreme hard work and dedication that continues to lead him to success.
