About Sam Fuld
Sam Fuld is a professional Major League Baseball outfielder originating from Durham, New Hampshire. While Fuld endured the obstacle of being diagnosed with diabetes at a very young age, he never let it get in the way of pursuing his dreams. He became a standout player in high school when he twice batted a .600 batting average and was ranked 19th in the country by Baseball America. Fuld honorably went on to play college baseball at Standford University, where he set the school record for career runs scored and the College World Series record for career hits. Highly impressed by his history in the sport, the Chicago Cubs drafted Fuld in the 2004 MLB Draft. However, he did not debut professionally for them until 2007, when he was given the opportunity to prove himself as a vital contribution to the Cubs’ starting roster. In 2011, he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays and he has most recently been traded to the Oakland Athletics for a second time. Fuld is expected to continue doing great things for the MLB in the years to come and is admired by many for his highly impressive work ethic amidst suffering from a life-long disease.
