About Sam Mewis
Sam Mewis was vital a member of the United States women's national soccer team. Mewis was first called up to the senior national team in 2014 and ended her career with 24 goals in 83 caps. She was a member of the 2019 World Cup championship team and was named U.S. Soccer's Player of the Year in 2020.
On the club side, Mewis played in the NWSL for the Western New York Flash, North Carolina Courage, and Kansas City Current, winning four championships. She was named to the NWSL Best XI in 2017. Mewis also won the FA Cup with Manchester City in 2020.
Mewis played collegiately at UCLA, helping the Bruins win their first national championship. Mewis was selected as the Honda Award winner in 2014. Her sister, Kristie, also played professionally and for the national team.
