About Sam Vincent
Sam Vincent has had a long-tenure in basketball as a player and coach. Vincent was an All-American in college at Michigan State before being selected in the first round of the NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics in 1985. He helped the Celtics win an NBA championship in 1986, then spent seasons with the Seattle Sonics and Chicago Bulls before finding a home with the Orlando Magic. He was on the Magic's inaugural team and played with them for three seasons. Vincent went on to coach for teams overseas and domestically. He came back to the NBA as an assistant with the Dallas Mavericks in 2006, before being named the head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats one year later. Vincent has also been the head coach of the Nigerian women's national basketball team, leading them to the first win by any African nation in women's Olympic play in 2004. He is currently the head coach of the Bahrain men's national team.
