About Sara Errani
Sara Errani is an Italian professional tennis player and former world number one in doubles. The right-handed baseline specialist turned pro in 2002 and peaked at world No. 5 in singles (2013) and No. 1 in doubles. Errani reached the 2012 French Open singles final (losing to Maria Sharapova) and achieved a Career Golden Slam in doubles, with Olympic gold (mixed doubles, 2024 Paris, partnering Jasmine Paolini), plus multiple major doubles titles. She won 9 WTA singles titles and over 36 doubles/mixed titles, contributing heavily to Italy's Fed Cup triumphs (2009, 2010, 2013). After retiring from singles in 2025 following the French Open, she continued excelling in doubles, notably with Paolini. As of 2026, Errani remains active in doubles.
