About Scott Goodyear
Scott Goodyear is a native of Toronto, Ontario and is one of the greatest racecar drivers of all-time. During his career he raced on the IRL and Champ Car series and captured the Michigan 500 in 1992 and 1994. From 1990 to 2001 he qualified for 12 consecutive Indianapolis 500 races and finished as the runner-up in 1992. In 1997 Goodyear moved to the Indy Racing League and nearly won the series title in 2000 while competing under the Panther Racing banner. Goodyear decided to retire from competitive racing in 2001 after a crash in the Indianapolis 500, leaving behind a racing legacy that was about more than wins. It was about respect and he more than earned it. After he retired he became a commentator for ESPN’s coverage of the IRL and continued to provide valuable contributions to the racing world. In 2002 he was inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame.
