About Scott Nagy
Scott Nagy is the long-tenured coach at South Dakota State, ushering the program from the Division II ranks, to Division 1 Independent status and finally into The Summit League. All along the way, he has found a way to keep SDSU a winner. Since joining The Summit League in 2007, the team has made three NCAA Tournament appearances, won the conference tournament three times, and been regular season champions in conference on three occasions. In preparing to move up to Division 1, the Jackrabbits dominated on the Division II level. They made the NCAA Division II Tournament in eight of Nagy's first nine seasons. That run included four Division II Sweet Sixteen appearances. Prior to taking the head coaching job at SDSU, he had a run as an assistant coach at the school bookended by stops at Illinois and SIU Edwardsville. Nagy had a prodigious playing career as well. He starred at Delta State, setting career records for games played and assists.
