About Scott Skiles
Scott Skiles joined the Milwaukee Bucks in 1986 as a first round selection out of Michigan State University, where he earned Big Ten Player of the Year and Consensus Second Team Al-American honors as a senior in 1986. During Skiles’ 11-year career in the NBA he played for the Bucks, Indiana Pacers, Orlando Magic, Washington Bullets and Philadelphia 76ers. In 1991 he was named the NBA’s Most Improved Player and went on to break the NBA single game record for most assists with 30. When he retired in 1997 he had accumulated 6,652 points and 3,881 assists while shooting an incredible 88 percent from the free throw line. After his retirement he began a successful career in coaching, starting out in Greece and returning to the NBA in 1999 as the head coach of the Phoenix Suns. He coached the Suns for three seasons before landing a head coaching position with the Chicago Bulls from 2003 to 2007. From 2008 to 2013 Skiles coached the Milwaukee Bucks and he spent the 2015-16 season back in Orlando coaching the Magic. Skiles teams made six playoff appearances
