About Selena Roberts
Selena Roberts got her start in sports journalism after earning her Bachelors in Journalism from Auburn University in 1988. While at Auburn she served as the sports editor for the university newspaper, The Plainsman, which provided her with the experience she’d need to become one of the top sports journalists in the country. Upon graduating from Auburn she began her career as the beat writer for the Minnesota Vikings at the Minneapolis Star Tribune and went on to cover both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Orlando Magic for the Orlando Sentinel. She has since become a senior writer for Sports Illustrated and a syndicated columnist for the New York Times. In 2009 she wrote the biography for baseball legend Alex Rodriguez called A-Rod: The Many Lives of Alex Rodriguez, which became a best seller. In addition to her sports journalism career she also serves as a contributor for ESPN and makes frequent appearances on the ESPN talk show The Sports Reporters.
