About Shane Battier
Shane Battier had a great 13-year career in the NBA, capped off with three consecutive NBA Finals appearances and consecutive NBA Titles in 2012 and 2013 with the Miami Heat. In 2014 he announced his retirement after earning NBA Teammate of the Year honors. During his decorated career he was a two-time NBA All-Defensive Second Team selection and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. On July 2, 2-14 ESPN announced the Battier would be joining their network as a men's college basketball analyst. A move that seems to be a perfect fit for a highly respected and knowledgable player like Battier. Known for his intellect, work ethic, and likability, he has always been a fan favorite. Especially during his days as an All-American forward at Duke University, where he led the Blue Devils to an NCAA National Championship in 2001 and was named the NCAA National Player of the Year.
