About Shawn Springs
Shawn Springs is a former professional cornerback for the Seattle Seahawks, Washington Redskins and New England Patriots of the NFL. Springs attended The Ohio State University where he played football from 1993-96. After being redshirted his freshman year, Springs started all 37 games. The Seattle Seahawks selected Springs as the 3rd overall pick in the 1997 NFL Draft. As a rookie, Springs started in 10 games and recorded an interception. The following season, Springs was selected to the 1999 Pro Bowl. On March 4, 2000, Springs signed with the Washington Redskins as a free agent. Springs was named an All-Pro selection in 2004. In his first season with the Redskins, Springs became the first cornerback to lead the team in sacks and interceptions in NFL history. The Redskins released Springs on February 27, 2009. On March 11, 2009, Springs signed a three-year contract with the New England Patriots. He was then released on May 18, 2010.
