About Sloane Stephens
Sloane Stephens is a professional tennis player. Stephens began playing tennis at 9 years old at the Sierra Sport and Racquet Club. Two years later, Stephens moved to Florida where she began her training at Every Tennis Academy. In 2008, Stephens had a breakout year when she finished as the runner-up in the US Open Junior doubles. In 2009, Stephens captured the singles and doubles title at Grade 1 USTA International Spring Championships. She also reached the quarterfinals at the Junior Wimbledon, but ultimately fell to Mladenovic. Stephens played her first professional event in late 2007 at the ITF Circuit. Stephens turned professional in 2010. She played in the 2011 Wimbledon Championships, but lost in the second round to Nina Bratchikova. Stephens played in the 2014 Wimbledon, but lost in the first round to Maria Kirilenko. Stephens is currently ranked 33rd by the Women’s Tennis Association. She has yet to make a WTA Tour singles final.
