About Stephanie Cox
Stephanie Cox is a professional soccer defender and left back. While in high school Cox helped lead her soccer team to two league championships. Cox was also named to the all-selection team in her junior and senior year. She won the youth AllAmerican award from NSCAA as well as being named a Parade Magazine AllAmerican. Cox attended the University of Portland where she played on Portland’s soccer team. As a freshman, Cox started in 23 matches. In 2005, Cox helped lead the Pilots to an undefeated season and an NCAA Championship. Cox has played for the Los Angeles Sol, Boston Breakers, Seattle Sounders Women and the Seattle Reign FC on the club level. In 2000, Cox became involved with the US National Team Youth Program. Cox captained the US Team at the 2006 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship. She participated in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and she helped the Women’s National Team bring home the gold medal.
