About Stephen A. Smith
Stephen A. Smith is a former sports journalist and he currently serves as a talk show host and television personality. Smith attended the Fashion Institute of Technology before he received a basketball scholarship to play at Winston-Salem State University. While playing for the team, Smith wrote a column for the university newspaper, The News-Argus, where he argued that their coach Clarence Gaines should retire due to health issues. Smith’s print media career began with the Winston-Salem Journal, the Greensboro News and Record, and the New York Daily News. Smith’s television career began in 1999 with the cable network CNN/SI. Smith is currently an analyst and talk show host on ESPN and ESPN First Take. On April 11, 2005, Smith became the host of a weekday radio show on WEPN.
