Steve Christie

Steve Christie, who goes by his middle name but has a birth name of Geoffrey Stephen Christie, is a former Canadian American football placekicker who is famously known for his outstanding field goal kicking performance. Growing up in Canada with a love for playing soccer and kicking footballs, Christie played for the Canadian Junior World Cup soccer team and qualified for a college scholarship at the College of William and Mary. Christie went on to make his NFL debut with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1990. Throughout his two years with the Bucs, Christie earned 23 of 27 field goal tries and earned all 27 extra point attempts. Kicking for the Buffalo Bills from 1992 to 2000, Christie became famously known for his talent to continue to perform outstandingly despite bad weather conditions. In Super Bowl XXVIII with the Buffalo Bills, Christie set a record that still currently stands as the longest field goal ever made in Super Bowl History, reaching 54 yards. After kicking for many other NFL teams throughout his career, Christie retired from professional football in 2008 and is currently working as a certified CFL Agent.
