Steve Elkington

Steve Elkington is a professional golf player from Australia who played on the PGA Tour for over two decades. After moving to the United States right before college, Elkington attended the University of Houston as a student athlethe on the golf team. He became the first prominent Australian player to play college golf in the United States. Elkington made his professional debut in 1985. In addition to the PGA Tour, Elkington has also played on numerous other tours, including the Asian Tour, the PGA Tour of Australasia, and several others. He earned ten wins on the PGA Tour, his most successful tour, all of which occurred in his most prominent decade, the 1990’s. Elkington played for the Internal Team and Presidents Cups for four years. His most prestigious career accomplishment was earning the Vardon Trophy in 1995 after winning the PGA Championship, which is a trophy given by the PGA of America to the tour player with the lowest scoring average. Elkington currently plays on the Champions Tour, which he has been doing since 2013.
