Steve Williams

While he may not have been a professional golfer himself, Steve Williams was every professional golfer’s dream. Serving as a caddy for top-notch golfers including Tiger Woods and, currently, Adam Scott, Williams has caddied on almost all of the world’s major professional tours since the late 1900’s. His love for caddying developed at a young age, stating, “By the age of thirteen, I found myself enjoying caddying more than playing.” Leaving school before his sixteenth birthday, Williams moved to Europe to pursue his dreams and caddy on the European Tour. From there, he never looked back. Throughout his early years, he spent more than a decade traveling the world and caddying on all of the major tours. Afterwards, Williams got steady work with several Australian pros until he was approached by Tiger Woods’ then-coach in 1999, asking him to serve as Tiger’s caddy. Williams became very protective of Woods over the years, even wrestling a $7,000 camera from a fan who uninvitingly snapped a photo of Woods. After his time with Woods, Williams went on caddy for Adam Scott, standing alongside his win in the 2011 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. In addition to serving others as a caddy, Steve Williams’ kind heart is giving back to others through his establishment of an admirable charitable foundation to assist junior golfers in his homeland.
