About Stew Morrill
Stew Morrill is an American college basketball coach. You can currently find him on the sidelines as the head coach of the Utah State University men’s basketball team. Morrill launched his coaching career in 1974 as an assistant at Gonzaga University, where he was a two-time All-Big Sky selection himself. Morrill was also an All-American at Ricks College prior to his coaching career. Also serving as an assistant coach for the University of Montana’s men’s basketball team for eight years, Morrill received his first head coaching position there in 1987 for the Grizzlies, where he led them to an NCAA berth in 1991. Since, he has also coached at Colorado State and, currently, Utah State. At Utah State, Morrill has led his team to numerous notable victories, including the Big Sky Regular Season and Tournament Championships, Big West Regular Season and Tournament Championships, and the WAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship multiple times. His impressive coaching record with Utah State is 384-143, winning almost three quarters of the games he’s coached there.
